My handmade jewelry is composed of plant materials that I have gathered, pressed, and preserved in resin. I pair these pieces with raw crystals, using gold findings. I also collect ethically sourced butterfly and moth wings that I preserve in resin, transforming them into wearable pieces.
Ashley Rutherford is an artist who is interested in the unending inspiration provided by nature. Different media such as oil paintings, fiber work, and jewelry serve to mirror the limitless forms of our natural environment and celebrate its beauty.
Many of the preserved plant materials in Ashley's jewelry are found in our local community of Doylestown.
