I strive to capture a moment in time, a snapshot of the sights and sounds of life around us. These moments give us a feeling, a sense of awareness of our world. I want the viewer to see my work and feel that joy, or that calm, to sit in a moment and reflect on how these places make them feel.
My inspiration is drawn from the light, color and textures around me. I love painting landscapes because even though the trees and ground don’t physically move, the attributes are ever changing. They express different moods and emotions by altering just one of these elements. This is why I paint!
I get my art approved by my 10-year-old daughter before it goes out for sale. She has a very good eye and she is my sounding board when I feel a piece is done, and in a few instances she will steal it and hang it in her room. She is my best advocate, my harshest critic, and I love her dearly for it.
