Ceramics

My Process

I throw all of my work using stoneware or porcelain clay. My pieces are then altered while wet, and finished with my own hand mixed layered glaze before being fired in a gas kiln or 24 hour hand stoked salt/soda woodfire kiln which creates unique patters on the pots surface.

My Inspiration

I work in clay because I am inspired by the way a well made piece of ceramics can be a functional part of your everyday life while simultaneously be a beautiful piece of art.

Fun Facts

I leave raw clay (unglazed clay) in certain spots on each pot when I woodfire my pieces, so that you can see the pattern of the flames path as it moves throughout the kiln on the pottery surface.
