I am a watercolor artist. My style is primarily representational architectural watercolor paintings with an emphasis on light, shadows and color. I am constantly photographing buildings throughout the Philadelphia area to use as reference photos for my paintings.
I am inspired by old buildings and streetscapes in both small towns and urban areas. I paint old buildings not only because they are interesting subjects, but also because it gives me a sense of preserving them in some small way.
I rarely sit down and complete a painting from start to finish - I always have 2 or 3 going at once and rotate working on them so that I get fresh perspective when I come back to them.
