Block printing involves carving my images into a variety of modern materials, including linoleums and rubber. I print each piece by hand with a black ink. Once the ink is dry, each piece is hand-painted with water color. No two are alike!
Trained as potter I have enjoyed the process of block printing for many of the same reasons I liked making pots; I feel connected to an ancient human activity, and I enjoy the process of working in a series. My images are derived from nature, art history, and my family life.
