My paintings have a very "elemental" quality, often resembling some pattern, formation, or texture found in nature. Experimentation has always been my guiding principle, so my process relies entirely on my ability to brainstorm innovative and unusual methods of application. No tool is off limits!
Nature. I am absolutely fascinated by the intricacy and beauty found throughout the natural world, including the cosmos. All of my favorite colors, shapes, and motions come from nature. If I can mimic any of the intriguing patinas and textures from that world and harness it in a painting I have won.
I once made a painting so large that it couldn't fit down the stairs of my third-story art studio, so it needed to be lowered through a vacant elevator shaft using ropes!
